Anticipation...

This week is a week of anticipation for me, and I am reminded of that old Carly Simon song, "Anticipation." Mama used to play that album with that song on it when I was a little girl. I can even see the album cover in my mind right along with the Heinz Ketchup dripping slowly from the bottle. "Anticipation, anticipation Is makin' me late Is keepin' me waitin'..."

Waiting is not always my strong suit when I have something big that I want to happen in my life. This week will be a week for waiting. I have a bucket list trip planned at the end of the week, and I know that the week will crawl along.

I am to the age now where doing things before I die is becoming a priority. Not that I think I'm going to die tomorrow, but I want to have my breath taken away from me by the most wonderful things now. Things that ten or twenty years ago I would never have thought about. Things that I have experienced and didn't get the most out of the first time, like reading To Kill a Mockingbird as an adult. There are so many things in that book that I missed the first time I read it in high school. Things that take my breath away.

My trip is a bucket list trip because I am a huge Joyce Meyer fan. I love the truth that woman speaks out of her mouth. There are three women in the ministering profession that are on my bucket list to see in person. There are many women that are anointed in this profession, but only three that I desire to see speak. One I've seen, Bianca Olthoff. Man that girl can bring it! Took my breath away. This weekend I get to see the second on my list, Joyce Meyer. The third would be Beth Moore, but no plans there yet.

Last spring, I saw that Joyce's Love Life Conference for Women was going to be in Charleston, SC. I love Charleston too! On a whim, I decided to purchase myself a ticket for the weekend. I no longer have to worry about overburdened schedules in my house. It's just me. I texted my two girlfriends that I had bought myself a ticket. Within seconds, one had texted back, I'm going with you. She bought her ticket too. Not only am I getting to see Joyce Meyer, I am seeing her with my best friend. How much better could it get?

Preach, Bianca!

. This allows us to extend our trip and actually rejuvenate ourselves with some Charleston culture. God is good!

Now you can see why my week is a week of anticipation! I am getting to check off a bucket list item with my sidekick next to me. Next week, I will have much to share from the sessions we see and from the things I take away from me. Excited doesn't even begin to cover how I feel this week! Pray that I am filled with patience as I get through it. May your week be filled with pecans scattered everywhere!
